Tightening Creams - What's in that stuff, anyway?
We're all more label conscious these days, and one thing we get frequent questions about is tightening cream. After all, you're putting this cream in a very sensitive area!
So, we did a little research and broke it down for you. Below is a list of the ingredients in each of the three tightening creams Scarlet Girl carries, and it's intended function in the recipe.
1. Like a Virgin Cream, Shrink Cream
Annuus seed oil - Sunflower seed oil.
Menthyl lactate - Complex derived from Lactic Acid and Menthol that cools and refreshes the skin.
Capsicum annuum resin (derived from peppers) - Ingredients that slow the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin's surface. Ingredients that enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.
Daucus carota sativa oil - Carrot oil
Retinyl palmitate - vitamin A; After its absorption into the skin, retinyl palmitate is converted to retinol, and ultimately to retinoic acid (the active form of vitamin A present in Retin-A).
Tocopheryl acetate - Vitamin E.
Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil - Almond oil; smoothes, softens, and protects skin and hair.
Triethanolamine - Used as a pH balancer in cosmetic preparations in a variety of different products - ranging from skin lotion, eye gels, moisturizers, shampoos, shaving foams etc.
Propylene glycol - Propylene glycol is used: * As a moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, mouth wash, and tobacco products. * As a personal lubricant.
Methylparaben - An anti-fungal that is widely used as a preservative for food, drugs, and cosmetics
Propylparaben - a preservative typically found in many water-based cosmetics, such as creams, lotions, shampoos and bath products.
This is our preferred cream, because it contains the most body-friendly ingredients. The active ingredients are intended to create a temporary, very localized, swelling of the vaginal tissue when the cream is applied. This causes a tightening sensation, and for many women, more sensitivity.
